Every dollar you spend on pre-production will save you ten dollars in post.

Film Style Production is all about preparation, and that implies that there is a script, a producer, director, and enough talent and crew members to create a Hollywood-style presentation. It's often just one camera on a dolly and track, or a camera on a jib arm, or even on a steadicam rig. However, one thing is always true: the end product is always better when each crew person focuses on their one job.

This is a well-planned production that is very well organized and tends to need more control of the location and of production time. In addition to a director and a producer there is often a:

  • Director of Photography - who knows the camera, lensing and the shot list
  • Audio Technician - who records all of the dialog and ambient sounds
  • Lighting Director - who makes sure everything is lit properly
  • Makeup Artist - who keeps the talent looking their best and from being too shiny
  • Wardrobe Artist - who makes sure all of the clothing is appropriate
  • Properties Master (Props) who makes sure the right objects are in the shot and that they add to the scene
  • Gaffer - an electrician who works with the Lighting Director
  • Grip - a person who is responsible for carrying and placing equipment
  • Production Assistant - who is responsible for everything everyone else forgets
  • Caterer/Craft Services - the folks providing the food for cast and crew

There are often assistants for the various positions as well, and sometimes even a 2nd unit of camera crew - generally a smaller version of the above.

What's important is that Productive Media has an enormous amount of experience in successfully managing this type of production and that we can bring that success to your film-style production.
